Project Ask

Pockitship was a new start-up business looking to become the "Uber" of shipping—that is, being able to hire anyone to transport large items. They needed our help in ensuring that the online shipping experience would be efficient and pleasurable for users to go through.

My Responsibilities

  • Regularly present and consult with client on all design and research
  • Perform any design and research activities

Challenges

  • A complex and lengthy form process for shipping where most information was needed to produce a quote
  • Low budget for accomplishing UX work
  • Product launch had a one time shot and needed to be successful with users

Process

As always, I met with stakeholders and determined where they were in terms of defining their product and what their business objectives were

With a low budget for user research, I focused on gathering user behaviors by creating assumption personas so that I could lead the client to a primary persona. The "assumptions" were built from a role playing workshop I put together and conducted

User flows were then created based off of our best guess at the goals and behaviors of the target persona

Finally, I mapped the user flow directly to an HTML/CSS prototype, so that I could run various usability tests to explore efficiency and ease-of-use with the form process (very important design objectives)
